Atlanta fest to screen ‘Spotted Yellow’

Iranian short flick ‘Spotted Yellow’ has been set to go on screen at the Atlanta Film Festival (ATLFF) in the US.

Directed by Baran Sarmad, the 12-minute film is about Roya, a girl who has a yellow spot on her face.

One day she feels the signs of a real giraffe within and her life starts to change gradually.

“She sees her spots. She hears her voice and she feels her,” a tagline for ‘Spotted Yellow’ reads.

According to Sarmad, the flick is about a girl who has a dream and does whatever it takes to achieve the longing.

Shadi Karamroudi is the only actress in the flick.

‘Spotted Yellow’ went on screen at some global events, including the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland, the Chicago International Film Festival in the US, the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia, and the Glasgow Short Film Festival in Scotland.

Founded in 1977, the ATLFF is one of the largest and longest-running festivals in the US.

It aims to showcase the work of emerging and established artists and brings together filmmakers from around the world to share their experiences.

The 45th edition of the ATLFF is slated for April 22-May 2, 2021.
